Affiliate Marketing Powerhouse
Affiliate marketing is most probably the key to the survival and progress of many cyberspace businesses. And this is why affiliates are being sought everywhere by almost every online company. One traditional marketing arm will not be sufficient for one online business who will be competing with other online companies which are offering the same products and services. Thus, affiliate marketing is very vital.
Fortunately, many people with business blood in their veins realize the important role of affiliate marketing in e-commerce. And conducting affiliate marketing seems like a relatively easy method that even a person without a masters degree in business can do it. This is why there are many affiliates signing-up everyday. These new affiliates are supposed to open the doors of new leads for the online business. But nothing like that is happening
Many affiliates are not earning enough money and they find no significant activity going on in their websites. Is affiliate marketing a mistake? The answer is “no”. This practice is based on sound marketing concepts. And the major reason why most affiliates don’t earn enough money is that they have committed one or more of these mistakes.
Mistake #1: Hard Selling
An affiliate must not do “hard selling”, which is basically shoving the product down the throat of the customer. An affiliate should leave the “hard selling” part to the website of the online business. The affiliate’s own website should not contain anything that resembles “hard selling”.
What an affiliate must do in his website is to “pre-sell”. To pre-sell is to slowly convince the visitor of the importance of a service or a product by having excellent, information-laden, and authoritative content. Then, the affiliate will “suggest” an action for the visitor, which may be to check out the service or the product.
Mistake #2: Too Flashy Websites
An affiliate is supposed to respond to the need of the visitor, which is to obtain information. This means that the affiliate’s website should have information. Unfortunately, some affiliates are lured into making their websites into one electronic show, in which there are too many banners and too many “blinking” features that seek attention.
If there are too many banners and too few content, the visitor will most probably roll his eyes and hit the back button.
Mistake #3: Ignoring Search Engine Optimization
Activity in the affiliate’s website can be increased if the website’s URL ends up in the results page of search engines. Otherwise, the affiliate’s website is doomed to silence. It simply becomes a lifeless stone in the ever increasing world of e-commerce.

The average affiliate marketer just goes out and finds a product… any product that has a high commission… and throws up a link and sits back and HOPES that someone will click on it and buy the product. DON’T BE AVERAGE!
When you’re deciding what product to add to your affiliate marketing business, you really shouldn’t be looking at products at all! Instead, like a true super affiliate, you should be looking at people!
Become A Problem Solver
All super affiliates know that Products don’t buy products… people buy products! If you don’t know what the people who are a part of your niche are having problems with, are interested in, and are talking about then how can you fix their problem and sell something to them?
Super Affiliates Know Their Niche
Once you’ve decided upon a niche, you need to be a part of that niche… even if it’s just briefly. Do as the super affiliates do… Learn to talk the talk and walk the walk.
That’s extremely simple. Just do a search for forums that relate to your niche. Go to them and sign up. Read the posts on that forum. See what problems people are complaining about… see what topics are getting a lot of posts…see who the experts are in that niche.
As A Super Affiliate You Need To Study Your Market
Sign up for a newsletter or two. That will give you a good idea of the level of marketing in that niche and will also let you learn the “lingo” of the niche. See what products they are talking about and trying to sell. This will also give you an idea of whom to JV with when you start your own affiliate program for your own product or service!
Give Them What They Really Want
Before you start your campaign ask questions on the forums. Get to know some of the people. Build relationships with them. Give them the opportunity to get to know and trust you. After you’re an accepted member of the forum, ask them if they’d mind doing a survey for you in exchange for a nice gift. That’s when they actually tell you what they want and will buy!
When reviewing or recommending a product or service ask yourself… would I recommend this to my family and friends… is it of use and would they get value from it? It’s always best if you have used the product or service yourself first. This way you can give an honest review.
To make your review more believable, don’t just simply tell them how wonderful it is (which I’m sure it is), tell them what you didn’t like about it too. This will give your report more creditability and readers will put more trust in you.
By putting people first instead of the product you’ll have much greater success and elevate your status from that of an affiliate who just puts tons of links out their and hope some will stick, to someone who cares about his customers and goes that extra mile, therefore, earning the reputation as a super affiliate and huge repeat commissions for years to come.

It’s true; you never really appreciate what you get for free online.
Sure, you download the stuff; then more often than not file it and forget it.
Different story though when you shell out hard cash; then you value your download, you savour the content, you delight in your new found discovery, you anticipate the wisdom it is about to impart.
Then nine times out of ten…
1. You discover you already know all this stuff, or
2. You realize it is total hogwash, or
3. You have to shell out again for an upsell to make it work
Now you compare it with similar free stuff you downloaded earlier and are surprised to learn there is intrinsic value attached; value you failed to spot first time around – if you even bothered to look.
Free stuff can be good if it follows these criteria…
? It emanates from a genuine source of expertise in its genre
? It does not set out to sell you something you neither need nor want
? It contains content of genuine value
Free stuff can make you money when you dispense it yourself if…
? Your offer is presented in good faith
? Your offer does not attempt to persuade the recipient to make a complementary purchase
? Your offer provides a genuine solution with no strings attached
Above all resist the temptation to infest your offer with a proliferation of thinly disguised affiliate links; they will just hack off the beneficiary.
Free stuff will build you a priceless resource if…
All you ask in return for your free stuff is an email address where you can relay a message with the download link.
Treasure your flow of freely given email addresses; compile them daily into a priceless asset; your ever-growing voluntary optin list.
Now you can think about upselling…

Sorry I have not posted lately. We had a death in the family and could not get to it.
Anyone can build an ecommerce site. Getting traffic is going to be the first hurdle, but doing so will only matter if you can convert it.
You Work Hard For Traffic – Get It To Convert
Getting your traffic to convert first requires that you understand a few parameters. To have a clue regarding how you are doing, you need to understand server statistics and conversion ratios.
I am continually amazed at the number of sites that do not look at their server statistics. Your server stats are incredibly important because they tell you how many people are coming to your site, where they are coming from, how they found you, how many are turning into customers and, if not, what pages they are leaving from. Without this information, you are just guessing at how well your convert traffic. Don’t!
Once you start looking at server stats, you need to determine your conversion ratio. The conversion ratio is the number of sales you get per visitor to the site. Importantly, it is not the number of sales per hit. A visitor may generate multiple hits, so just focus on visitor statistics. Some stats programs refer to visitors as “sessions.” Regardless, conversion ratios vary by product or service. Some may be as low as 1 in 25 visitors while others will be much higher. If you convert at anything over 1 in 500, the site probably needs some serious tweaks unless you are in an extremely competitive or general market.
Making your convert is all about providing a convenient solution for your prospects. You should review your site from this perspective. Is it easy to find and buy a product or do you have to click through four or five pages? Make it as simple as possible.
Advertising links can cause poor sales. Many people make the mistake of having their advertising link to their home page. If your advertising refers to a specific service or product on your site, the advertising should click through directly to that page. Never make your prospects hunt for what they are looking for on the site. Many of them will not do it.
As strange as it may sound, the load time of your site can kill your sales. Remember, 40 percent of Internet users are still on dial-up modems. While your site might load quickly when you look at it on your cable, T1 or DSL connection, how does it do on a 56k modem? Don’t guess. Go find one and try to load your site. If you have a lot of graphics, you are going to be in for a shock!
Even if your site loads quickly, most ecommerce sites have time glitches on the order page. This glitch occurs when the customer fills out the order information and clicks the processing button. Sites can grind to a halt as they convert to the secure credit card processing system. This is such a prevalent problem that a majority of ecommerce sites will lose up to 40 percent of their sales on the order page. Make sure your site loads quickly, particularly the order page.
Improving your conversion rates is all about understanding how your site performs. If you can focus on your subject and get the site to load quickly, you should see dramatic improvement.
